FEEDBACKS

Week 5
General feedback: If you decide on one week, you have to do well because you don't have much time Specific feedback: Add a variety of mood sounds Especially keep the atmosphere of the room and the footprints in sync

REFLECTION

Experience:
Working on projects in video and sound production was an innovative experience that provided a direct journey into the areas of storytelling and audio design. Practice and major projects helped convert theoretical knowledge into practical applications.  In particular, the sound formation practice of recording and manipulating my own voice in Project 2 gave me the power to broaden my understanding of audio manipulation techniques and enhance the overall auditory experience as an experiential exploration I actually experience.

Dissecting the narrative structure of Burrow (2020) and Lalyn (2005) in a three-act rescue exercise has become a pivotal experience in understanding the dynamics of the narrative. The process laid the foundation for effective storytelling, emphasizing pacing, character development, and plot progression. Moving to Project 1, the thrill of audio dubbing allowed us to explore the complexity of synchronizing sound, and fostered a deep appreciation for the importance of precision in post-production work.

Observation:
These projects revealed key results on the complex balance required for audio dubbing and sound shaping. Discovering the influence of small details, such as various mood sounds and careful synchronization, has contributed to creating the overall richness of the final product. The fact that successful audio design is the culmination of thoughtful choices and precise execution has undoubtedly become a valuable discovery that will influence future endeavors.
Specific feedback on project 1 emphasized the need to add a variety of mood sounds and maintain synchronization between the atmosphere of the room and the sound of footsteps. These observations highlighted the importance of attention to detail in creating a truly immersive audio experience.

Findings:
The repetitive nature of the process, triggered by feedback and real-world experiments, not only improved my technical skills, but also deepened my awareness of the artistry of participating in creating audiovisually interesting stories. Looking back on these experiences, I have developed new insights and skills that will definitely contribute to my growth in the field.
