My Role: Assistant Director(Team B)

To Do

-Assist the director in pre-production, including preparing shooting schedules, call sheets, and shot lists. 

-Organize and coordinate the logistics of the shoot, including booking locations, and managing the schedule on set. 

-Manage the background actors and ensure that they are in the right place at the right time during filming. 

-Help to create and distribute daily call sheets that outline the schedule and logistics for each day of filming. 

-Assist the director in blocking and rehearsing scenes with actors, and take notes on each take.

-Work with the director of photography to plan camera setups and movements for each shot. Monitor the timing of each shot and keep the crew on schedule. -Handle any unexpected issues that arise during filming, and troubleshoot solutions with the director and other department heads.


To handle this, I made a call sheet according to the form and shared it on the group WhatsApp to help.



PROJECT 2B

TikTok/Insta video 


Proposal

Using Akdong Musician's "Love Lee" as background music, we will create an Instagram reel containing a day as lovely as the song using POV, which is popular these days. The venue emphasizes the joy of everyday life through various scenes of reading books and enjoying songs at REXKL and seeks to find loveliness in small moments even if they are not special. Through scene transitions and emotional editing, we will create an Instagram reel that matches the music video.

REFLECTION

Experience:
It was an exciting and enlightening experience to participate in Project 2 as Team B's assistant director in the production shoot of "Beef," a Netflix remake. The role involved a variety of responsibilities, from pre-production planning to on-site coordination. Making shooting schedules, call sheets, and shot lists required careful attention, and organizing logistics, such as location reservations and scheduling, enabled practical applications of project management techniques.

Working closely with the director, I played an important role in ensuring timely placement of background actors during filming. Working with the director, he contributed to planning camera settings, monitoring shooting timing, and maintaining the crew's schedule. The sense of responsibility to solve unexpected problems during filming further increased problem-solving ability and adaptability.

In parallel, the TikTok/Insta video project added a dynamic dimension to the overall learning experience. It was about creating content in a style tailored to the latest trends that allowed a direct exploration of contemporary video creation. The process of filming, editing, and collaborating with colleagues to capture the essence of contemporary social media videos was enjoyable and informative.


Observation:
Sharp observation was essential to keep the project going smoothly throughout the production shoot. Collaborative efforts with team members emphasized the importance of effective communication and coordination. Witnessing the transition from pre-production planning to real-life shooting, the importance of well-organized logistics was emphasized to achieve successful results.

The TikTok/Insta video project has provided insight into the mechanics of creating engaging and shareable content. The experience of actually making it by referencing the most trendy videos while usually doing Instagram was interesting.

Findings:

Working with both activities, he revealed several discoveries about the complexity of video production. The role of assistant directors emphasized the importance of careful planning, effective communication, and adaptability in a fast-paced production environment. The main findings were in the field of cooperation with various departments and understanding the dynamics of problem solving.

The findings in the realm of TikTok/Insta video production were more personal. The project emphasized the importance of adapting to the latest trends, understanding the preferences of target audiences, and honing concise storytelling skills for short-form content.
